Parsifal returns to Barcelona's Liceu, from where he once greeted the world. We chose to name this apartment Parsifal for its blend of character and modernity. Modernity which breathes into all four corners. The apartment in which you get a front row seat to Barcelona whether you are a serious music lover or a die-hard urbanite.

We speak of a spacious apartment with a large living room with fully equipped kitchen with stainless steel appliances. This common area - divided into three spaces, thanks to a comfortable sofa that serves as a division between the living area, which has a huge plasma screen and the dining room, where an old mahogany table is a luxury for six people. A mixture of styles in dining chairs, four upholstered Elizabethan style chairs and a pair of black mesh chairs, very successfully creating a contrast in styles. The kitchen peninsula divides the space yet again.

In the back is the rest area. Three bedrooms, two of them doubles and one individual, willl guard your dreams, which will be placid and relaxing, as all the bedrooms face away from the street Sant Pau. Our Parsifal apartment has two full modern design bathrooms, one en suite in the master bedroom, with large showesr and heated towel rails to keep your towels warm. Central air conditioning in all rooms. All windows are double glazed aluminum anti-noise for great soundproofing and insulation.

Parsifal's situation is unique. On the left the popular Rambla, the Mercat de la Boqueria, which has the freshest produce and gourmet items with the most flavor of the city. Very close by Gran Teatre del Liceu, the internationally renowned temple of music, Plaça Reial with its arcades, fountains and lampposts designed by Gaudí. All these are must-see stops. On the other side of the Rambla, we travel in time to historical Barcelona, guided through the narrow streets of the Gothic Quarter and further along, the cosmopolitan neighborhood of El Born, a haven for artists and trend-setting avant-garde fashion boutiques,.

This is your home away from home while in Barcelona... In the same city block as the great "Liceu" opera house building, 20 metres from La Rambla, the most lively boulevard in the city. An unbeatable location with excellent communications to the centre and for day trips out.

1.  Concerns when booking. 
It is always a bit daunting to book something sight unseen and this was an expensive property, so I was hoping I was making the right decision, especially since I was booking for more than just Greg and me.  What really helped was you on the 'live chat' with me; that really sold me on the property actually; I felt like I was able to get my questions answered and appreciated someone who knew Seattle, was so fluent in English, and so friendly. 
 
2.  Concern validated or allayed?
The  property definitely met all our expectations, and exceeded them in relation to the location, access to Metro, La Rambla, etc.  It is new, in great condition (although the dishwasher did not get repaired during our stay, but we didn't eat in much so not a big deal).  It is rather sparsely decorated, but was comfortable for all of us. 
 
3.  Most Liked about the apartment
Definitely the location and the quiet.  I was not expecting to be so close to everything.  Having never been to Barcelona the location was perfect for us.
 
4.  3 Next Best
Your welcoming us and really helping us get acquainted with the neighborhood; making our first night memorable. 
Having a washer/dryer in the apartment and 2 bathrooms; having all the items in the kitchen for our use.   
Having an elevator for the luggage; we never used it otherwise, and used the stairs as exercise, but having it was good coming and going.  (seems like a small thing, but it is really a treat in Europe, especially when you're tired, or have to catch a cab at 3:00 a.m.)

We would definitely recommend the apartment; probably too big for 2 people, but perfect for families or more than 2.  All of the communications were good, clear, and helpful.  It's a high-end property and well worth the price.

Clean, safe and convenient location is more important to me than cost, ultimately.

Sorry I don't have any pictures but will answer the questions:
 
1.  I had been told the Ravel was not a great area so was a little concerned about the location and if the heating would be adequate.  But as it turned out, it was very good and the heating was great as it was quite cold at night outside - centrally located and easy to walk to all the sights and other areas.
 
2.  See above. Just one thing - the shower in the master bedroom in the back did not have the showerhead mounted on the wall so it was difficult to wash your hair while taking a shower. Told Mercedes about this after I returned. Not sure why the dishwater didn't work but didn't really need it. But that should be fixed for those who may want to cook a meal.
 
3,  Location was an excellent feature.
 
4.  a) Apartment lived up to what was shown on the reservation site in terms of furnishings, etc.
     b) Quiet
     c)  Good beds and enough blankets during winter, nice dishes, glassware, cupboard space.
     d)  Transporation arrangements were excellent - driver showed up on time at the airport and at the apartment for our return.
 
5.  Yes would recommend to friends and on in my review (on VRBO) for all of the above reasons.
 
6.  As I said above, fix the shower. Maybe leave more toilet paper. And it would be nice if you had cable or satellite to get some English TV stations but that's not crucial. Just a nice touch.
 
It was not exactly clear what floor the apartment was on - in the US and Canada, it is either main floor, lst, 2nd, etc. With your apartment it was not really the lst floor as you have that floor (cannot remember the name) between the main and lst floor. Anyway we walked up because your elevator was quite small and claustrophobic but that's not your fault.
 
Maybe mention in your website or on VRBO, there is no concierge but area is safe.
 
7.  It's important that the owners of apartments are honest about their accomodation in terms of location, size, features and that they respond quickly to e-mails, etc.
