Cozy & elegant El Born designer 1 BR - Picasso

This place was wonderful! The location, style and comfort were perfect.
We were so excited when we walked down the charming pedestrian street to this apartment.
We were greeted on time by the rental agent and were wowed by the modern charm as we walked in. The location couldn't have been better to explore the sites of Barcelona. Close to the beach, museums, great shopping and restaurants.
We're going back so don't take our dates!

El Born Gem
Photographs are accurate. Comfortable and tastefully decorated. Mostly Ikea from furniture to cutlery, but top of the line. Fantastic location in El Born. Ten minutes to Jaume I metro, 15 to Barri Gothic, 20 to the beach all by foot.
Markets nearby have all you need, including food, wine, freshly baked bread. If you don't feel like cooking, Pim Pam take away is just down the street. The shopping, especially for shoes or clothing is terrific. No chain stores here, but lots of fabulous small boutiques.
Double glazed windows dull much of the street noise, but be aware that El Born is a party neighbourhood in a party city. Nothing scary or creepy, but people do party until the wee hours of the morning. The only noise late at night that might be annoying is that heard through the old window in the bedroom that faces the interior stairwell as people return home.
There are only four flats in this four floor building, so not a lot of coming and going. Besides, you may be out late too and not notice anything. All the people in the building that we encountered were genial and friendly.
Appliances all work well. The refrigerator must have been set too high by previous guests, so things froze at first, but we managed to get it working properly. The washing machine meant we didn't have to pack tons of clothing and the drying rack on the balcony meant things dried super fast.
The owner is fantastic! When I told him I was allergic to feather pillows, he not only ran out and bought new non feather ones...he also bought new pillow cases to ensure that I didn't react to the old ones that had been on the feather pillows. A pleasure to deal with him. He really cares about the flat. Note that the flat is up two flights of rather steep stairs. Not onerous, and this is the norm in this area as the buildings are so old.
I'd stay here again happily and highly recommend it. There's a pull out bed in the living room, so four could manage just fine, especially if they're a family.

Picasso Apartment
My wife and i really enjoyed our stay in this apartment. The location was fantastic, close to everything and no more than a 15 minute walk to Ramblas and St. Josephs market where we did all of our food shopping.
The apartment is well kept and very modern and comfortable although the bathroom could use a bit of an upgrade. This is nit picking though.
I would recommend this rental to anyone wanting to stay in a nice apartment in a great neighborhood of Barcelona.

Great central location.
We stayed in the apartment at the end of our vacation in Spain and Portugal. The location is great and we felt like we were part of the local scene. The apartment is located with easy access to Metro and many of the important sites to see - including the Picasso museum.
The apartment had sound proof windows, but the street noise was still evident - but part of the charm. The entrance into the apartment is a bit skinny and the stairs are tight - but that adds to the character of the apartment.
The only issue we had was the air conditioner in the bedroom was too loud to use during the night. This made the room a bit stuffy. The staff was always available to help us whenever we had a request!
