Sleek, modern and majestic... The Building
- • located on the 6th floor of a new glass building with a lift/elevator
- • the address is C/ Urgell with C/ Sepúlveda, in the modernist Eixample left, next to Sant Antoni market
- • reinforced entrance door & video intercom system, double door in the access to the building
- • inside the building there is a big atrium with a glass ceiling, crossed by suspended bridges leading to your door
- • groups of bamboo trees and whitee stones, are bathed by natural light cascades, creating a fresh, shining atmosphere
- • glass, steel, stone and wood are the materials used for the building
Stanley relates what happened next: “The expedition at last comes to a halt... There is a group of the most respectable Arabs; and as I come nearer, I see the white face of an old man among them... We raise our hats, and I say, ‘Dr. Livingstone, I presume?’ and he says, ‘Yes.’”
Wandering around... The Neighbourhood
Located in the Eixample left district of Barcelona, next to the Sant Antoni marketplace -designed by Antoni Rovira i Trias and built between 1872 and 1882- which is one of the oldest and most popular in the city, especially with the secondhand book stalls that surround the building on Sunday mornings.
It is bordered by the avenues of Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes, Ronda de Sant Antoni and Avinguda del Paral.lel. The streets of Sant Antoni follow the grid pattern prevalent in all of Eixample, except for a central thoroughfare, the Avinguda de Mistral, built on the site of an important medieval road which lead out of Barcelona. Another well-known landmark of Sant Antoni is the bar called Els Tres Tombs, right next to the market.
Just a few meters away is Parlament sreet, the new happening cluster, a boiling pot where the utmost interesting things are arising. It all started with the Federal Café, which opened at the end of 2010 and reached almost legendary status, as among the most brilliant entrepreneurs in town. In their case, they spotted a gap for breakfast and brunch in Barcelona, and these days securing a seat either in the café or on the roof terrace on a Saturday or Sunday is nigh-on impossible.
Those who had been paying attention soon followed. Vinito, the little wine shop that has been there considerably longer than Federal, expanded on their two barrels outside where you could sip a glass while you shopped and it’s become a popular spot for a crafty apero when out shopping. Next door, Bar Calders commandeered a prime piece of terrace on the alleyway, added a few pretty plants and hey presto, it’s the spot du jour for a Sunday morning vermouth or a craft beer in the evening with a couple of tapas like hummus and guacamole.
Tarannà Bar & Café opened later, with a style very similar to Federal. Their windows also open onto the street so you can sit in them, they have large communal tables, single-plate simple lunches like fresh pasta stuffed with botifarra and a solid wine list.
And another new place, the Zuckerhaus opened selling old-fashioned, home-baked cakes from a pretty cake shop on the corner. Manuela is half German, half Italian and to the usual round-up of treats has added black forest gateaux, fresh plum frangipane tart and pumpkin and apple cake. This is the perfect place for an afternoon pick-me-up.
The Livingstone is our tribute to explorers... which is what all of us are, at the end of the day...

Nice and cozy apartment in a prime central Barcelona location
We enjoyed our stay in this flat in Barcelona. It was very clean and very conveniently located. Just crossing the street, there was a nice supermarket with everything you might need and at reasonable prices. The San Antoni mercado was just two blocks. That's a place worth visiting if you are in Barcelona. The L1 metro line is just one block, and Plaza Cataluna, Las Ramblas, Paseo de Gracia, were all at a nice 15- minute walking distance. Hard to find a better location than this.
Ana was who received us and explained the rules. She was nice and professional. The apartment had everything you need to spend a few days and it was very safe too.
I highly recommend this place.

Cozy nook in Barcelona
It was a nice stay in spotlessly clean and cozy flat. The communication before arrival was prompt and helpful. We were met upon arrival and were explained how all worked.
The location is good, there are nice restaurants and cafes in the neighborhood.
That helped when we came back home after long sightseeing days.
Thanks Jaume!

GREAT LOCATION
The apartment location made it walkable to everywhere we went except for Familia Sagrada which was just a quick train ride away. The train station was about two blocks from the apartment and the bus station to the airport was just outside the apartment door! There are lots of restaurants, bars, cafes, shopping within walking distance. Excellent stay! Would definitely recommend!

Very nice apartment and the location was the best for transit.
We were also able to walk to most sites and that is the best way to go.
Great rental and will use it again.

Very Nice Apartment
The apartment was very nice. Clean and nicely appointed. The only thing that was less than exceptional was the bed in the second bedroom. The listing says there are two 140cm beds, however, the bed in the 2nd bedroom was smaller than the bed in the 1st bedroom. The 2nd bedroom is a bit small as well, there wasn’t much room to move around the bed. It’s a bit tight for two couples traveling together, but would be fine for a family with one or two younger children. They provide linens, but there were no face clothes.
They were very easy to communicate with and the restaurant suggestions in the apartment book were fabulous.
Overall it was wonderful and we would rent it again if not traveling with another couple.

We LOVED it. Thanks!! All 5 Stars
The Livingstone Apt. in Barcelona was wonderful. It suited our needs very well. Meeting our daughter after she had 6 weeks in hostels in Europe she was so very happy to have a Washer and Dryer, and a room to her own after all the Hostel Visits. We were happy to have a fridge and coffee maker. Both showers had fine water temperature and fine water pressure. Everything you need is in the Apt. We walked 10+ miles a day an enjoyed experiencing the local venues. Anna was very responsive with the few questions we had. We would stay there again, but will probably visit another city in Spain. Thanks Jaume.

Entire experience was positive
Apartment was spacious, clean, and well maintained. Building felt safe. Location was a bit far from the touristy spots, but close to a metro stop. Excellent restaurants in the immediate vicinity. Hosts were attentive and easy to reach. Thank you, we had a great time in your apartment. Thank you for keeping it so clean!
