Els llums de Sant Pau

22 November – 9 January

This Barcelona Christmas, head to the Hospital de Sant Pau to experience the most magical Christmas experience. The Els llums de Sant Pau Christmas garden is here and open to the public. Check the opening times and book your tickets online here.

Casa Batlló Lights

24 November – 07 January

This Barcelona Christmas make sure you see Casa Batlló on Passeig de Gràcia decked out in a brand new light. From 24 November, this Gaudí emblem of the city will be lit up in a range of festive colours.

Barcelona Christmas Lights Tour

26 November – 02 January

The Barcelona Christmas Tour is here. Hop on board and get ready to be surprised on this hour and a half bus ride to discover city’s bright, colourful and inspiring Christmas lights.

Sagrada Família Christmas Market

27 November – 23 December

The Sagrada Família Christmas market is now open to all visitors. With stalls selling Christmas decorations, nativity scene figures, and handcrafted items, you’re sure to find that last-minute gift. And don’t miss the crepe stand!

Barcelona Christmas at Poble Espanyol

This year, discover Barcelona Christmas at Poble Espanyol where the Three Kings themselves will be there to receive your letters in person. There are 24 themed areas to discover, one for each day of advent.

Jardins de Pedralbes – Natura Encesa

07 December – 09 January

This year every corner of the city will shine. At the Jardins de Pedralbes visit the Barcelona Christmas Garden Natura Encesa (Nature Shines).

This festive experience began in Santa Cruz de Tenerife before coming to Barcelona. This magical light show evokes the Earth’s four elements and celebrates the planet’s biodiversity.

The Star atop the Sagrada Família

8 December

This week the Sagrada Familia’s second tallest tower was topped with a star which, very soon, will be shining for the whole world to see. As of 1 December, visit estel.sagradafamilia.org to add your very own ray of light to the top of this Gaudí masterpiece. The star will be turned on on 8 December at 7:40 pm.

Bach’s Christmas Cantatas

13 December

Bach’s Christmas Cantatas will be performed at the Palau de la Música in a festive concert by Gabrieli Consort & Players, directed by Paul McCreesh.

On 18 December, the Liceu Opera House will welcome the Amics de la Unió Children’s Choir and the Liceu Symphonic Orchestra to perform Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Tale. Perfect for all ages!

21 December

What better way to get in the mood for Christmas than a Barcelona Christmas carol concert at the Sagrada Família? Afterwards, why not visit the Christmas market and browse its stalls brimming with charming gifts.

Boxing Day Concert – Palau de la Música

26 December

Don’t miss this much-awaited date on the Barcelona Christmas calendar. Yes, we’re talking about the Boxing Day (or St. Stephen’s Day, as it is commonly referred to in Catalonia) Concert at Palau de la Música, a long-standing tradition in the city.

Performing traditional songs, Christmas carols and more, are the Orfeó Català, the Escola Coral de l’Orfeó Català choirs and the Chamber Choir of the Palau itself.
